Finding trusted mentors in an engineering environment can be challenging. Senior leaders are too often busy attending meetings and crisis management sessions, meaning they lack the time to coach employees on their path to self-actualization.

Even if you do find a mentor, having one that has YOUR best interests at heart rather than the company’s can be difficult. Many engineers may not feel comfortable sharing sensitive information, political matters or their desire to leave their job to those at their workplace.
